Hi,

My Mum's iMac's HDD gave up the ghost and the computer has had a new HDD installed. :(

The person who installed it also gave us 10.3 for £30 (was on 10.2.8). Bearing in mind that 10.4 costs £100 was this worth it?

Should she have upgraded to 10.4? are the differences worth the extra? She doesn't really do anything too heavy with the computer, mainly internet radio, word processing email etc along with some light photo editing.

Thanks :)

She'll be fine with 10.3 because to be honest, I think it's probably only the geeks who fully appreciate/want/need the gimmicks of 10.4.

I'm just hoping it was a legitimate copy. I've had quite a few experiences where a PC has been taken into repair and come out with all this lovely new software... Very iffy.
