Hello all,
I am running a first gen Core Duo 20" iMac over a wireless network from the Airport Express in my living room, which in turn is connected to my Comcast cable modem. The Airport was purchased within the last 6 months, so it is pretty current with the wireless N spec and whatnot. It has also been updated with the latest Airport firmware, as has my iMac with all of the latest updates. I am using WPA2 encription.
I've found that ever since the most recent Airport update, my iMac randomly disconnects from my wifi. When I go to the Airport menu to re-select my network, it prompts me to enter a password even though it is a remembered network. When I try to connect again, it either says the connection timed out or that the password was incorrect, even though I re-entered it. Then, eventually after not being able to reconnect, the network doesn't show up among the dozen or so that are present in my apartment building. Usually after a waiting, unplugging the Airport from the wall, or restarting my iMac, I can connect again.
Meanwhile, my iPhone 3G stays connected to the Airport network no problem. Because of this, I thought it was my iMac, but last night my girlfriend brought over her unibody Macbook and she had the same problem connecting, or staying connected to my Aiport network. I'm going to re-install the Airport firmware again if I can connect to it, but if that doesn't work, I'm not sure what else to do. I have no problem connecting to other wireless networks (and staying connected) with my iMac, and my girlfriend's Macbook has no problems with the wireless, non-Airport network at home. Has any one else had a similar problem since the last firmware updates?
