Hi

I Hope someone can help.

I Wiped my old Imac (intel Core duo, 2 yrs old) I then re-installed the OSX4.5 from installation disk. (no problems).

I then Wiped the disk again from my new Imacs install disc and tried to install OSX 10.5.5. I got the error message (THIS SOFTWARE CANNOT BE INSTALLED ON THIS COMPUTER) This is probably because the Imac is too old for OSX10.5
even though its only 2 years old.

However my real problem is because the HD was wiped, I cant only restart from the Install disk, which in-turn wont load the software, and by default I cant eject the disk.

As there is no system software on the machine non of the keyboard commands work and there is no Eject hole on new Imacs. can anyone help.

Many Thanks

Reboot holding down the mouse button. As long as it's held down when the grey screen is shown the CD/DVD will get ejected.

I will give this a go now

Thanks Robbie - I will give this a go now.

No the main mouse button. It must be pressed as the machine boots: you should have it held down when you get to the grey screen with the Apple logo, not after

Thank you

Thanks again
