Hi Guys

I'm hoping someone on here may be able to help with this :)

I recently upgraded a mid 2011 iMac 27" to a Samsung 1TB SSD. I did a timemachine backup and restore and used the OWC kit. Everything works fine and we are loving the new speed. The only issue is if we reboot the MAC its comes up with the grey screen and stop sign. If we turn the mac off and then on again works fine. Also its fine if we choose shutdown at the OSX menu and we turn on manually.

Seems like everything is fine unless we choose reboot? We are running El Capitan and cannot upgrade.

Thanks

Andy

Copying from a TM backup to a new drive isn't "a clone".
That's done with either CarbonCopyCloner or SuperDuper

Having said that, here's what I'd suggest.
It may help, or it may not (won't know until you try).
It won't HURT anything to try.

Download the El Capitan 10.11.6 combo updater from here:
https://support.apple.com/kb/DL1885?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

Once you have it, apply it "against" the OS install you have now.
It may just correct the problem.
