I'm using a calibrator to profile my mid-2011 iMac's display, and was wondering which screen technology to select when doing so.
The choice seems to affect the temperature of the resulting white balance in the final color profile, so I've decided to find out for sure which technology the iMacs use (I'm assuming it's white LED, but I want to be sure).
My choices are:
CCFL
Wide Gamut CCFL
White LED
RGB LED
Projector (n/a)
I've chosen White LED which results in a seemingly-perfect color profile, but want to be sure the results are accurate, rather than just aesthetically-pleasing.
Also, a separate question: did the initial 24" aluminum iMacs use CCFL panels at first before being switched to LEDs later on? I've seen some aluminum iMacs that looked like they had regular old LCD panels behind the glass (limited viewing angle, darker tint around the edges, etc.), but wasn't sure...
Thanks!
