Just hitting the internet for casual browsing and I found this little article about MSI launching "the first gaming AIO desktop in the world" ??!!

Source:
http://www.techpowerup.com/182928/MSI-Launches-World-s-First-27-quot-Gaming-All-in-One-PC.html
AND
http://www.tomshardware.com/news/MSI-AG2712-All-in-One-allinone,22121.html

Well then I click the link and this product deserves a thousand rolleyes and W-T-F comment, especially with faux claim about "first gaming AIO PC"

The MSI AIO has:

  • Mobile i7 CPU (instead of true desktop chip on iMac)
  • Not-so-gaming-grade GTX 670M (instead of 675MX and 680MX on iMac)
  • Puny, sucky and blurry 1080p 27" display (instad of 1440p on 27" iMac)
  • Plastic case design, now I would want more for $2000!
  • Partial USB 3.0/USB 2.0 ports, yeah so much compromise here (instead of full 4 USB 3.0 ports on iMac)
  • Not-so-great price tag. Likely $2300 for the high end version!
  • OR you can just go out there buy a high end 27" iMac, put Windows BootCamp, then game on it. Enjoy!

It might has BD/DVDR ComboDrive, HDMI in/out, 3in1 card readers. But really all those gimmicky can be done by externals cheaply today. The key hardware is totally, totally inferior for the money.

I'm all about competition and I'm not saying I like the way Apple price their products, but this .. this is the very fine example which makes the iMac pricetag looks really really cheap!

iMac is the best gaming AIO already, and it's a Mac too. What in the hell was MSI thinking about putting embarrassing marketing ploy like that?

One more proof that even a decent computer manufacturer like MSI or Asus can't build AIO just right. WHY?
