Updated for stupid spelling / grammer
Hello
I have a mid 2010 27" imac
I have been using a mdp to hdmi cable for connecting to the tv, but the cable has broken and I am worried about constantly plugging in and out of the mac
I bought a short mdp to hdmi cable to leave connected to the mac. I then bought an hdmi cable to connect to the mdp / hdmi when needed. My thought was that if the two cables are the ones that are constantly connected / disconnected it leaves less room for damage to the mac.
I have just tried this and it does not work. Would there be a problem with this setup and two cables connecting the devices?
Tried the hdmi cable separately and that is OK. However, I cannot try the hdmi / mdp port cable on its own.
Set up
Imac - mdp male to hdmi female - hdmi male to hdmi male - TV
