Hello!
I'm looking forward on buying the 21.5 iMac, base model. One question tho:

After some digging on the inernet, it's using the Core i5-2400S CPU. 65W, LGA1155.

Will i be able just to throw in the Core i7-2600S? Same 65W, same LGA1155. I see it's used on the online Apple Store, on the 21.5" iMac i7 option.

How about the i7-2600? Instead of 65W, it's consuming 95W. I think it will overheat more... But it's less expensive, and more powerfull (3.4GHz VS 2.8GHz)

Thanks!

have you read what it says?
"Consequently, just as it is for the "Mid-2010" models, it is likely that it is possible to upgrade the processor in a "Mid-2011" model to a faster processor of the same type, but unlikely that it possible to upgrade a stock Core i5 equipped model with a Core i7 processor."

Yes the thread says it works, but apparently no one knows, You can try it out. Good luck pal
