iMac desktop - wait? & what color?

Should I wait to get an iMac? MR says that’s it’s mid cycle. I have a m1 mini that I was going to use for something else if I get the iMac.

Good time or wait?


If I do buy, what color? Office is a sage forest type green. Was leaning towards silver or the green.

Buy when you're ready. There will always be new models coming out shortly after a purchase. I think the silver or grey is a safe choice. A different shade of green could clash with your paint color. If you are buying at a store, you could take a green one home, and if you don't like it, exchange it before even hooking it up.

We don't have a store nearby - we're pretty rural. I am leaning towards the silver. Was just waiting to see if the next release would have a substantial upgrade or not but I may as well order.

The buyer's guide shows either an October release or an April release. Why not wait and see, if you can hold out until November for black friday, you may find some good deals, even if its not on a brand new model.

Personally, I'd go with blue or purple, silver has been over played - its like beige in PCs back in the day - just my opinion

I do plant to wait for October now - it'll be me more time to set money aside as I do not want payments for something like this. I was hoping to have the new machine for our busy photography season but the M1 is serving me well.
