I have a 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac that has developed a vertical yellow line in the display that won't go away even when restarted. It's like a 1 pixel column of dead pixels right in the middle of the screen. I think it's still under warranty. Is this something that can be fixed under the warranty?

Google "imac vertical lines" and you'll see that it only gets worse.

My early 2006 iMac has 17 lines so far, so we have an external display connected to it. The hard drive also died two weeks ago, so I took it apart and installed a 500 GB Western Digital. Make sure to back up with time machine.

Good luck with AppleCare. They should repair it for you if you are still under warranty.

Vertical LIne

I have a thin, red vertical line that is very very irritating. Have not done anything yet about it. Will try today to call Applecare. I have one of those 3 year things expires in November 2009.
