I will start by saying I have a new iMac on the way. But after reading many reviews and complaints, I began seeing a pattern. What if we could manipulate the iMac to be the perfect machine? Well, this is what I and many others have been doing to their computers, since they are usually not too difficult to upgrade and modify. But I wanted to start a thread not only to post current and future upgrades to the new iMacs, but to dream a little. (It can't hurt can it?)
That all being said, my three things I would do right off the bat would be to upgrade to an SSD for a boot drive, swap a blu-ray internal drive for the current (not) super-drive, and upgrade the graphics card. Not having the computer yet and not having found too much detail elsewhere on the insides of the new iMac, I'm not sure if all or any of these are possible. But, I think its a good starting point for others to jump, share their own thoughts, help us to actually do, etc. Now, to wait for my own computer...
EDIT: I do know its possible, albeit tricky, to install an SSD in the new iMac, but after reading the thread on these forums, even the type of drive, and where to connect it is debatable so it still is appropriate here. Thanks in advance for comments and help!
