iMac drive replacement and TB question

I just bought a mid 2011 iMac 27" on ebay. Want to know a few things:

1. Can I open it up to replace the HD?
2. Is there 1 thunderbolt to multiple firewire connectors? I have 3 firewire devices connected to my current Mac Pro which I will sell. I also need the additional thunderbolt ports for my huge sound drives (I do music).

Number 1, yes, here's a video from OWC showing how.

Number 2, That iMac has a firewire 800 port on it and two thunderbolt ports. Multiple devices (such as Hard Drives) can be daisy chained through the firewire 800 port. Thunderbolt devices can also be daisy chained.

I will have to use the Firewire port for my Audio interface. I will be using this for a home music studio. I wonder how loud it will get when I'm using all kinds of software and plugins? Wonder if an SSD will significantly reduce the noise.


Will daisy chaining devices reduce the performance of these drives?
