I have a 20” iMac with the 1G single stick from Apple. I am going to buy another stick for 2G total. I would like to have the dual channel memory mode.

Is there a reseller who’s RAM will work in dual channel memory with Apple’s RAM?
Right now I’m looking at OWC (macsales.com).

How do I tell if the RAM is working in dual channel memory mode?

Thanks for the help.

Problem: we can't predict what brand of memory Apple uses in the machine from week to week. Might be Samsung, or Hynix or Micron, for example.
A new module may or may not match the Apple RAM for composition (it would have to match for timing and size, of course).

Theoretically, if the composition (the number and size of chips and the internal logical organization of the banks and rows) is the same, two modules from different manufacturers should be able to work as a Dual Channel pair.
