imac DV 400 won't boot up

The Problem that I am having is:

When starting the imac the green power light will stay on for around 10-20 seconds before it shuts down. I read here that it could be a pram battery issue: http://archives.macusers.org/thread/t-1089.html

Anyone had similar problems?

I have worked on the early imacs, but this newer model has a different caseing assembly. Anyone know of a website that has dismanteling instructions?
