iMac Early 2008 and MBP 15 inch Early 2011

Any way I connect these two? I was going to hook up my MBP as a target display mode, but don't think that works.. Then I was thinking of using my MBP as main and hooking up the older iMac don't think that will work..

can anyone verify, that it's not available??

Can't be done. Only the 2010 27" allowed that. It sucks, sorry man.
