I did search and checked the online "wiki" - to no avail.
I've got a C2D 24" White Imac, and I've got a Dell 2408WFP 24" LCD as a 2nd display. (using the mini dvi - vga adaptor) Whenever the screen sleeps on the iMac, the Dell display pops up an "notification" screen that walks around indefinitely. It says "No VGA Cable", and the Dell will not sleep, even if I power down my iMac completely. It's officially gotten old, and I'd like to find a way around this. (shutting my monitor down kills the USB hub - which I actually use, so I'd like to avoid that if I can)
I think I've explored every inch of the Dell on-screen menu, and could find no related settings whatsoever. I've tried using 2 other Dell monitors with different cables (of varying vintage) and they all had the same problem.
What I'd like to know, is if anybody with a mini-DVI to "standard" DVI adaptor has this problem? (I'm hoping it's unique to the adapter I'm using)
Any advice would be appreciated, TIA.
