My late 2007 iMac started acting very weird about 2 weeks ago, it would systematically slow down and shut itself off.

I eventually zeroed out the disk and reinstalled OSX up to Snow Leopard. It would run for a brief time and then just shut off again, I have tried resetting the PRAM and various other disk repairs and such, but it is now at the point where I can not even turn the computer on (at one point I got loud beeps, if I remember correctly it was the 3 beep tone meaning faulty RAM but I am really not sure if this is the case as I did not add any additional RAM).

I am curious what I should do as for repair, how much it may cost since I have a suspicion it is due to a faulty Logic Board.

And finally I would like to ask if anyone knows if it is possible to convert an iMac to a Monitor (knowing it would be a permanent modification since I would have to add an input and probably bypass or remove a lot internally).
