My son, thinking that he was doing the right thing saw that the temperatures on his iMac (2.66, 2GB) were very high (80C) so he without asking, downloaded an application called iMac Fan Control... It then made the fan speeds go up to an audible 2096 RPM on the hard-drive... I know that this is not normal... Also about 1500 RPM on CPU and Optical...
I followed the instructions to uninstall it on there website (preference pane delete,package receipt delete, start-up item delete) but the fan speeds have stayed the same!!!
I was wondering if there was anyway to set the speeds back to normal???
Please save me from murdering my child... (JOKE) and getting very stressed!!!
