Imac flash player plug in crash

Hello,
First post and would like to ask if anyone knows why I am having a problem with my mac crashing.

Usually with video, the site will just shut down and go to the desktop screen with a message that the site shut down and the problem may be the plug in for the flash player 10.4 10.5?

This happens all the time and it is driving me nuts. Is there something I can do to fix this? Thanks you for any help.

This used to happen to me all the time on versions less than 5.1.7 . Basically Safari is a memory hog - if you have a lesser version than upgrade and it will most likely fix it.

Otherwise try turning off extensions...sometimes there's a clash with adblocker or some other plugin.
