Imac for Gaming?

I'm pretty set on upgrading my gaming mac from a 15inch g4 powerbook to the new 24inch imac ($1499 one). The primary game played on it is World of Warcraft. I was curious if this new computer would be a substantial upgrade from the one I'm using or should I keep saving for something more expensive?
