iMac Freeze During Install

I purchased Lion last night and left my iMac installing. This morning it is still saying Software Update, installing 2 items. The blue progress bat is at the end and underneath it says writing files. I'm guessing that it shouldn't take all night to install!

Any suggestions on next steps gratefully received!

I can at least tell you what you shouldn't do. Do not shut it down improperly. Too many times I have macs brought to me for service simply because they shut down during an update or install...

It most likely spent most of last night downloading, and then installing. It;s not suppressing that it took several hours. If it still isn't moving after several hours in THAT position, then it's time to start trying new things.
