iMac freezes while using Expose & Spaces

I use a 2.93 Ghz i7 16 GB RAM 27" iMac and in the last week it keep freezing every time i use spaces and expose. When i switch from one screen to the other it seems the iMac picture will freeze while the audio would play for 5-10 secs. My mac is updated and i dont use a lot of cpu on it, its mostly youtube videos and playing video from an external hard drive.

Is there something i am missing?
