My old iMac G3 runs fine in OS 9/8.6 with no problems. When I install Panther or any version of OS X on the drive, the hard drive shuts down after about 15 minutes of use. Its almost as if it is going to sleep, but the screen remains on and the system freezes. Any suggestions? Firmware and system software is updated.
