My neighbor has an imac G3 CRT computer. When it starts up it goes to the apple screen then as the gear is turning it locks up and dos nothing from that point on....no beeps, nothing. It does, however, ring the apple sound when you turn it on.
I dont know the history of this computer, all I know is that it had OS9 on it and it was upgraded to OSX at some point. I attempted to load Jaguar 10.2 on it with the same results.

Any ideas? :apple:

P.S. Oh, and now my install CD is stuck in it as well.

hold down the mouse button when starting up. Should give you your CD back.

Other than that, I'd try checking the Hard drive for problems using the disk utility when booting off the install disk. Sounds like an HD problem to me if you've tried multiple installs.

I'll give the mouse a try....on the other hand, I cannot use disk utility because I cannot even get the OS to boot. I do agree that it might be a HD problem.
