I Need help about buying an G3 iMac. Anybody got any thoughts? Or Suggestions?

Free? Might be worth upgrading the ram and putting on Jaguar or Panther. My girlfriends 1.25GHz G4 eMac was free.

iMac G3s, unlike the eMacs, are veritable tanks.

Workhorses. I like them. Get a cheap slot load, put in a new faster hard drive and max up the ram, you can run Tiger better than you'd think.

I just talked to someone today, as matter of fact, who has an eight year old iMac G3, she says it is still great and her main computer.

I know about seven people with them still running fine.

I did as you said. A new HDD and RAM will make Tiger run much better on the G3. My mom uses it now for her business. (Though she will probably need a new comp soon).

I have an iMac G3 466mhz with maximum 1GB RAM and a 60GB HDD running panther. It's not a speed machine by any stretch but it's a good reliable workhorse I use mine for web browsing and as a recipie database. It lives in the kitchen

I have a 400Mhz G3 I still use. It has iPhoto and iTunes both in use with 10.3.9, 512 ram and a 40g HDD. It does the internet fairly well too.

Don't pay too much if any for one though, they are slow.
