My iMac G3 completely freezes when I try to copy files from one drive to another, even between different partitions on the same drive. The same freezing occurs when downloading files from the internet or FTP, and when extracting files with StuffIt Expander.
I've tried several troubleshooting steps, including resetting the PRAM, reinstalling macOS (both OS 9.2 and 8.6), and checking the SSD with Disk First Aid, which reported no issues. Interestingly, the iMac can copy files perfectly fine when running off a CD or installing programs.
Here are the specs of my iMac G3:
* Model: 1999 iMac G3 Blueberry
* CPU: 333MHz G3
* Memory: 96MB
* Storage: 64GB SSD
