iMac G3 help!

I just installed an 80 GB Western Digital in my girlfriends iMac G3 Snow, everything went great.

Booted from CD, and was about to select destination volume,

Nothing appeared.

Opened up Disk Utility and Erased the new HD and added zeros.

When this is done, will the new HD appear in Select Destination Volume?

You don't need to add zero's (that takes forever), all you need to do is format it for Mac, and then the installer will see the drive.
