imac g3 help

Mi imac makes a clicking noise and then shuts down. Is it the hard drive anf if it is can i replace it easily?

Yes, its not to bad taking off the case, i had to change out one on my old imac. it was making the click of death sound. just a bunch of screws to undo and a connection. place it on its face on something very soft undo the two screws in base and the back can then be pulled off. New drives arent to bad plus you can bump it up performance wise. good luck

No its not. If the computer shuts down on its own, the analog and/or logic board is dead. pain to fix and relatively expensive.

help

most of the time it freezes after it makes the clicking sound. if i wait a few hours sometimes it boots up again. it's more like a clacking sound . if i restart it sometimes i get the question mark on the screen.
