:( I have a iMac G3 (Blue and Silver) that is not booting up. I get the apple symbol and spinning disk but no cursor - I'm not getting any further then this. I have run my os10.3 disk to find Disk Utility and repaired and varified my HD. Can I use 'restore' on Disk Utility, or will this erase all my files. I had similar problem before when I could not get to the desktop, startup prog crashing. This time I'm not getting further then first screen.

I need ways to get my files out - then I can reload os software and s/ware. If Logic board gone then may need new iMac.

I had this happen to my old iMac G3. I discovered it was bad RAM. I took it out, and it worked perfectly again. Just neeed new RAM.

Thanks Shawnathan - I have had put new RAM chipset in to boost memory, so reluctant to change / replace. It might be that they have come loose? It might be Logic board or Mother Board!!! in which case the machine is dead,
