I'm still new to macs and cd writing and stuff but I can't get classic mode to startup on my imac. Don't hate me as I had to torrent this because I can't find a OS 9 startup disk.

I basically extracted the files, tried running the install icon, that failed. then I tried copying all of the files from the fake mounted drive, now I get a os 9 boot screen but then it says something about a bad volume.

so, how can I properly write this .iso or how can I install it. plus I tried installing tiger once from my buddies g6 imac and I held down the cd key and nothing. how can I get it to boot off CD?

thank you for your time, and sorry I had to go as far torrenting for os 9

or is there a patch for microsoft office 98 to work on os x?

I only ask about a patch because there is a os x patch for marathon and it's the same concept;)

The Tiger disk will not work with your G3 unless it's the black, full retail disk. Secondly, to run Tiger on your G3, you'll need maximum RAM (1 Gb).

If you have the original Panther disks for your G3, you can use the application Pacifist to extract just the Classic .pkg from the CD and install it.

thank you and it was a retail disk (the black with the huge X over it?)

but I have a small amount of ram so that explains that, thank you:)
