Stelliform macrumors 68000 Oct 21, 2002 1,721 0 Jan 28, 2004 #2 I do believe that it is on the main board. Mine went out while under apple care, and the invoice they gave me (before Applecare) was $1200!! You can pick up spare iMac mainboards on eBay, if you can find someone you trust.
