Hi there,
I'm new to this forum and I hope I will get the help I'm looking for. If my question has already been asked by somebody else, please excuse me. Here is my problem. I have a iMac G3 which can not be booted from a CD even if I hold the C key down. I tried to look in the open firmware if the CD-ROM is set as first boot device by default, but the screen scrolls fast and I can see nothing. I tried to install the OS from a PC with MAC OS X through FireWire, but the PC does cannot detect the other HDD. Any help will be appreciated. I really want to make this iMac work.

My best regards.
PS: How can I do it from Open Firmware? Any way I can restore the Open Firmware to factory defaults by removing the battery?

I asked this question on CNET forum 4 weeks ago and I still didn't get any answer. Their forums really suck.
