That's why I think. Luckily I got a refund for that. Although I didn't want a refund, I wanted the RAM. It looks like I will have to look for the DIMM one instead.

Did you replace both of the ram sticks or just one? Are sure sure it's low density ram?

How can I make sure of that? Both. One I had laying around in a old Celeron pc and the one I ordered. Right now it has 384 (128 inside, 256 outside)

Also I found out the problem with the DVD RAM. It was one of the rubber strings that was tangled and now it is broken. I got the tray out but it doesn't work anymore, which is strange since Mac reports it as 'working'
