I have a 15'' iMac G4 with 800 MHZ processor and 768 mb ram. I woke it from sleep one day when suddenly everything had a violent pink tint to it. I had no idea what to do. I've replugged-in the video cable, messed with Colorsync, blew dust from the internal monitor port. I don't know what to do!!
Please help me, I need it in a few days and you guys are my only hope!!

Sounds like the cable is actually bad. This could also be a bad screen or video card, but when you see a tinted screen, you are usually missing a color which is a cable problem.

As mentioned before, you either have a bad video cable, or a dead backlight. I don't know if the iMac G4 LCD screen had two different color backlights like some LCD's do, but if the blue one went, then your screen might look more pink. If you move the arm around, does the color correct itself?

Hi CubeHacker...

I am agree with you because this types of generally arises due to bad cables....
