iMac G4 Screen issue

This problem has just occured on my G4 15" 700mhz iMac (CDRW)

Windows on the screen appear to "ghost" to the left and right if they use bright colours (white, silver etc.)

Here's a photoshopped screenshot showing what i mean (it looks exactly like this)

I can't work out what it is.

It appears to be a hardware issue, as this happens in OS9 and in the OSX installer.

This machine is 15 days out of applecare and I cannot afford any repairs.

Can anyone help me?
