I just bought an Imac g4 today as a christmas present. This was a replacement to an Imac g4 (same model). When I load tiger on the one machine and it goes through the installer at the end of the essentials, something doesn't go right and it says please restart your computer and try again . Is there a fix for this? And for the other Imac it freezes when it gets to the apple sign, these systems both are not running any osx. Is there a way to quickly fix this before morning?

Have you been letting the installer verify the source disk before it installs? Another option is to format the hard drive in Disk Utility to Mac OS Extended (Journaled) prior to installing. Check the installer log from under the Window menu while started up to the disk and post the last few lines here on the boards. I personally may not be able to interpret the log files but maybe someone else on the boards could try.
