Hi. I turned on my iMac G4 one day to find out that it wouldn't boot up! it said something like: "got boot device" and then a billion slashes and things and then it said: BSD root: disk05s, major 14, minor 5. i rebooted it a billion times and it kept doing this. i don't have a startup disk! what do i do?!? :(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

how comes you got no discs , all macs come with discs
ok some scrupulous ebayers keep the disc to mass preinstalling leopard on older macs ..as some folks pay more for the imac g4 /emac/powermac g4 if there is leopard on

but back to your problem of not booting , i guess you have reset the pram and pmu already
which i guess did not bring any results ,so my guess is your hardrive is on his last legs , but i could be wrong and it only need permission repair
