Hi,

Not sure if im in the right place here its my first post.

I recently purchased a IMAC g4 off ebay and when i booted it up it was fresh from a clean installation so i had to register everything.

However the screen was so faint and seemed dimed that I could hardly make out anything it was saying. I somewhere managed to finish all the questions and get to the main screen and it was still really faint. I changed loads of screen prefences and changed the brightness which helped a little but it is still so faint.

I had to turn the brightness up on full volume just to see it. Could anyone give me advice on this, am i doing something wrong or is there a way to fix it? Or do you think I Should ask for a refund.

Please help me im new to MACS

If its on max brightness and its still too dark, then the backlight is probably dead or near dead. I would get a refund.

Yeah there is definately something wrong there with it if thats the case. On my iMac G4 even if I turn the brightness down to its absolute minimum, everything on the screen can still be seen/read easily.
