Hello!

I have an iMac G5 20" and I'm having issues with it.

The iMac powers on for about 20 seconds, and then cuts off. It does this like 5 or 6 times, and then works perfectly fine, for hours and hours, till I turn it off. Then if I try again, it does the same thing..

Thank you.

Call an Apple Store and take it in.

I had the exact same problem with my iMac G5. Eventually, it stopped working all together, and wouldn't even power on.
I took it to an Apple Store to find out what was wrong and they replaced the logic board, free of charge. Apparently, this generation of iMac had some kind of issue, but Apple didn’t issue a recall, they just repaired the machines for free on a case by case basis.

I didn’t have Apple Care, and my warranty had been up for nearly 2 years when they did the service.

Give it a try. It worked for me.
