Looking for advice or recommendations. I bought a used iMac G5 ALS 2.0GHz recently without a hard drive. I cannot get it to reliably recognize any hard drive I put in it. All my replacement hard drives are Sata II (all WD black HDs and I've set the Sata I jumper). It does have a few bulging capacitors, but everything else works perfectly. Is there any way to test the hard drive without buying another or is this 100% the sign of the capacitors as the cause. I'd like to not be in a hurry to replace the caps if I don't have to.
