While waiting impatiently for my new iMac G5 I noticed a blurb when checking out what software comes with it..

... magnet inside the top of the display holds iSight in place.

Do what? No sticky thing to plug it onto the mac? Anyone got a pic of this in action? Sounds very cool

I don't have pictures unfortunatly, but I did see this in action. Apple visited Notre Dame for a Vendor Fair, and I checked out their offerings, including the 20" iMac w/ iSight. The iMac was georgeous, and the iSight was nice, but I thought the stand was a little cheesy. Its a round piece of plastic with the same white look as the iMac. It has magnets in the top and bottom, and it just sits on top of the machine. It is totally functional, but it definitely accentuates the difference in style between the iMac and the iSight. My friend may have some pictures, so I'll dig around!

The iSight my dad got DID NOT COME with the magnet, he had to buy the isight accessory kit for $40.

No, but the isight was older than the iMac G5. Perhaps the new iSight packages contain the magnet.

The magnet is so strong it works with all sorts of things. I believe my dad wanted it to stick to a black board or something.

the new iMac G5 has the magnet inside of the case.

The iSight does not have a magnet.
