whenever I try to open up itunes or empty trash or launch other applications, my screen will blink once and then nothing. I keep trying to launch itunes and a small screen will come up saying that itunes quit unexpectedly...other applications or empty trash and the screen just blinks, once. I dont know what the problem could be. Please help

Go to -> System Preferences -> Universal Access -> Hearing. Is the "Flash the screen with an alert sound occurs" box checked?

i checked if the box was checked and it was not. I also tried restarting the computer but still the same thing...when I try do empty the trash the screen would blink or hiccup, and the trash is still there
