Ever since I plugged in an optical audio cable into the 1/8" toslink/analog jack on my iMac G5 the analog audio output no-longer works. Is there a way to reset the audio to send out analog instead of optical (i assumed this should happen automatically)?? When I plug in an analog 1/8" cable (headphones/y-adapter) all I can hear is a metronome-type click noise, which is not affected by the volume control.

Any Ideas?

ps: the fan also is loud as hell (30db HA!!!bs)
