I have an iMac G5 1.8Ghz and yes I'm buying a new one, but the point is, this is going to my little brother.

Today when I logged in, it just froze on the apple OS X background.
I waited 2 minutes, and nothing happened. It was weird because it's the first time it happened.
Anyway, I turned the iMac off and re-tried. It did the exact same thing.

So I turned it off, unplugged everything, waited around a minute, plugged it all back in, and it worked fine.

But yeah, just trying to work out why it would do that... because this is going to my brother and I don't want it to just crash when I give it to him.

Any idea?

Thanks in advanced
