Hi I have an old G5 iMac 1.8 ppc from 2004 and it's got a bad board so I've just bought another 2005 iMac G5 which is 2.0 ppc with a bad hdd. My question is.. Can I just swap my good hdd for the bad one and expect everything to work or is there other stuff I need to change? Cheers

If they are both non-iSight models it may work. If one is an iSight model, it will not work. The screen size must also be the same size.

ok and if the new one has iSight, what do I have to do?

If all you need is a hard drive, then replace the bad hard drive. You can use the hard drive from your older G5.
And, it's several steps more challenging to do that hard drive swap on the iSight model.
Anyway - if it your "new" G5 is really 2.0 Ghz, then it won't be the iSight model - it will be the much easier to repair Ambient Light Sensor model.
