What is wrong with this picture? The fans are running out of control constantly. This machine is sooo loud. The power supply was just replaced, which did little/nothing. Reset all ram/etc.

My G5 iMac also has intermittent fan speeds that seem very high. At time the CPU fan will run 4000 rpm and CPU temp over 155 F.
After I quit a site that ramps up fan speed like U-tube the fans continue to run fast.

If my G5 then sleeps and wakes up, fan speed returns to high levels. If I restart, fans are likely to return to quiet levels aprox 1500 rpm.

Should I be concerned?

G5 imac 24" new problem fan costantly on form start up

I have a new prblem my Imac is only a few weeks old . Turned it on today after being completely off over night with power supply off also and the moment I touch the on button the fan kicks in full blast and never NEVER goes off.

Will get my apple care on it on Monday but is this a common problem?
