Anyone have any idea what's happening?

I keep getting sudden restarts on my computer and when I ran the hardware test it said: Logic Board code Error detected: 2STH/1/2: CPUT-Diode

Apple said I need to take it in but I am in the middle of a big school deadline as it is our last week.

Does anyone understand this or know of this happening a lot?
Brenda

Rev. A?

Could be the capacitors are going bad taking out the logic board.

If you look at the bank of capacitors by the CPU, you may see burst, leaking, and swelling capacitors.

This wasn't a design issue, but a horrid quality capicitor that leaked into the supply chain, actually a huge number of consumer electronics from that period will most likely go bad eventually.

So I know what CPU is but not the rest.
Do I take it in immediately? Or can I finish my assignment?

Is there really no alternative computer you can use for your assignment? The problem is, if it dies on you in the middle of some seriously cool points in your essay, you'll be kicking yourself if anything is lost.

I can't believe this is happening...is it common for the G5?
Is it because I don't shut it down at night? I used to shut down my old imac.

The computer was bought in Sept for the school year
I am a teacher and I have to turn in next year's lesson plans but that's a good point, I guess it's back to the old trusty blueberry G3. I'll have to lug it home.
