I need to replace the logic board on a 1.8GHz iMac G5(no iSight).

I already bought a tested, working board from eBay, now I just need to replace it.

Any tips or things to be aware of? I am very comfortable taking apart computers, but this will be my first iMac disassembly.

I can't seem to find any online guides, as I often can for Mac portables.

Thanks!

The non-isight is cake (comparatively speaking)

Quick tips: Don't lose the light cone that makes the white circle on the front, it is easy to misplace and you don't want to realize you lost it after everything is back together.

You will need some alcohol wipes and new thermal paste for the new board.

Make sure to have a decent philips screwdriver, don't go cheap here.

The only "polarity" issue I've ever run into is the two wire leads to the inverter, just make note of which way the gray and white wires are oriented.
