iMac G5 not reading DVD+Rs

Im using an iMac G5 (isight) 17" and it's not reading my memorex DVD+Rs, WHICH I ALREADY HAVE USED IN THE PAST (same package of dvds). it simply isn't acknowledging that it is in the computer, so it's not spitting it back out like it did with incompatible DVDs i've had in the past.

i repaired permissions and reset PRAM. and restarted. still no go.

Hate to tell you but try a different brand as Memorex dvds give a lot of people a hard time. Even if they are from the same spindle/pack it can happen, getting bad dvds that is. I use TDK or Verbatum for my burning needs as I've been where you are with yours (Memorex 100 spindle, 20 of the first 25 were bad).
Like I said before try a different type/brand and if it works, hopfully you don't have to many Memorex left.
