iMac G5 randomly shutting down

My friends iMac G5 just recently has been randomly shutting down. Does anyone know anything I can do to help him fix his computer?

I checked apple.com and there seems to be issues with power on some models, but his serial number just misses the infected batch.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I'd call Apple if you're covered by AppleCare.

You might be able to argue a fix as well if you're not.

Yeah, he has apple care. He just called them up, but there closed. Tomorrow is another day I guess.

Odds are it's overheating.

The G5 iMacs were notorious for this.
